M&A advisory Clairfield secures direct FCA authorisation for UK entity

Clairfield Limited has received direct authorisation from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), effective 5 February 2026.

Clairfield Limited is the UK entity for global midmarket corporate finance advisory Clairfield. Geneva-headquartered Clairfield was launched in 2004 by five founding firms in the US and Europe. It has operated in the UK via Orbis Partners since 2010. Orbis Partners was rebranded Clairfield in 2023.

The Birmingham-based Clairfield Limited entity has secured permissions related to investments.

Chris Gregory takes on the SMF16 Compliance Oversight, and SMF17 Money Laundering Reporting Officer roles, while also acting as an SMF3 Executive Director. He is joined as an SMF3 by many former owners and employees of Orbis Partners.

Clairfield provides corporate finance advisory services around the world, employing more than 500 employees who closed €37bn of cumulative deal value in the last five years.
