Air Capital Partners Limited has received direct authorisation from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), effective 3 February 2026.
Air Capital Partners is a private investment office founded in 2025 by Edward Johnston, Steve Jacobs, and Tim Holmes à Court. The firm initially operated as an appointed representative of multi-family investment partnership Vedra Partners from July 2025 before receiving direct authorisation from the FCA in February this year.
Air Capital Partners has secured permissions related to investments and is a UK MiFID firm, appearing on the FCA register of active firms providing MiFID investment services or activities.
Steve Jacobs assumed the SMF3 Executive Director role from 3 February 2026. He is an adviser at BTG Pactual and Chairman of Australian wealth management firm Shaw and Partners. He previously served as a board member at EFG Investment and Wealth Solutions, and earlier in his career was a managing director at UBS in London.
Co-founder Edward Johnston previously co-founded Alvarium Investments in 2009 (now AlTi, a Nasdaq-listed global investment group and multi-family office) and Aeon Investments in 2019, a London-based credit-focused investment firm. He is also a seed investor and venture capitalist advising ventures across the US and Europe.
Sydney-based co-founder Tim Holmes à Court, previously co-founded members network Horizons in 2017. He also previously held roles at AlTi and at Australian private credit investment manager Wingate.
Chief Financial Officer Mark O'Flaherty joined the business in May 2025, having previously been head of finance at AlTi. O’Flaherty takes on the SMF16 (Compliance Oversight), and SMF17 (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) roles.
