The wider Science Creates ecosystem says it has supported more than 150 startups across areas including healthcare, the environment, quantum technologies, biotechnology, advanced engineering, and health tech.\nThe authorisation marks Science Creates Ventures' move from the appointed representative model to operating as a directly authorised FCA-regulated entity. Catherine Fletcher, Harry Destecroix, and John Williams previously held appointed representative roles at Kin Capital Partners LLP in relation to Science Creates Ventures.\nFletcher holds the SMF16 Compliance Oversight, SMF17 Money Laundering Reporting Officer, and SMF27 Partner roles at Science Creates Ventures. Destecroix and Williams both hold SMF27 Partner roles.\nDestecroix founded Science Creates in 2015 and co-founded SCVC in 2020. He previously co-founded Ziylo and Carbometrics, and was awarded an MBE in recognition of his work with Science Creates.\nFletcher is a General Partner at SCVC. She joined the firm in 2020, became Principal in 2021, and became General Partner in May 2024. Before moving into venture capital, she was a researcher, having completed a PhD in organic chemistry at the University of Bristol.\nWilliams is a General Partner at SCVC.
